Silvia Lips, Ph.D., is a lecturer in the e-Government Technologies and Services curriculum at the Department of Software Science, Tallinn University of Technology (TalTech). Silvia has a background in law and has also completed the master’s program in e-Government Technologies and Services. She recently defended her Ph.D. in the field of Information and Communication Technology at TalTech. Her main research area is electronic identity (eID), various authentication solutions, and their cross-border applicability. In parallel, she works as an expert at the Information System Authority (RIA). Silvia is a member of a European Commission cooperation network and participates in the evaluation of electronic identity systems at the European Union level. Previously, she worked for over ten years in the field of internal security, and for five years of her career, she was responsible for the production and procurement of Estonian ID cards and travel documents at the Police and Border Guard Board. She values professionalism and believes that lifelong learning ensures continuous personal development.”
