Norbert´s research interest is designing an eID technical architecture for African countries.
This research analyzes national ID projects implementation in selected African countries (Benin, Djibouti, Namibia, and Rwanda), identify challenges, opportunities, and future plans. On the other side; this research will present how a well-structured national ID system can be a catalyst for e-government advancement and overall digital transformation in the selected African countries. Also, this research will draw a comparison of ID systems in the selected African countries, outline best practices on how to establish a technology-oriented national digital identity system for African countries. Most importantly, this research will develop an eID technical architecture model for African countries, which will serve as a blueprint for African countries for designing national ID systems, in order to ensure technology compatibility and potentially cross-border identity management.
